The Edmond de Rothschild Israel Group considers it of the utmost importance to provide accessible, equitable service to people with disabilities in a manner that ensures equality and a lack of discrimination, in accordance with the provisions of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 1998, and the regulations enacted pursuant to it.

 

The offices of the Edmond de Rothschild Israel Group are accessible to visitors who use wheelchairs (including the office entrances, parking lots, waiting areas, restrooms, elevators, service desks, etc.). The company’s parking lot includes designated parking spaces for vehicles displaying a disabled parking badge. Accessible restrooms can be found on the lobby level (floor 0). Visitors are encouraged to approach the company’s staff if they require assistance with any matter. People with visual impairments may enter the company’s offices with a service animal. In the event that a person with a disability requires an escort, this can be arranged by contacting the accessibility coordinator, whose details appear below.

 

Employees of the Edmond de Rothschild Israel Group have been trained in providing accessible service. If necessary, service representatives are available by telephone to assist with reading forms or documents and/or completing forms, either by telephone or in a meeting, in a manner tailored to the needs of the person receiving the service.

Website Accessibility

The Edmond de Rothschild Group website uses various technologies designed to ensure that it is as accessible as possible at all times. Our accessibility interface enables people with various specific disabilities to customize the website’s user interface and adapt it to their personal needs. The website is accessible in accordance with the accessibility guidelines detailed in Israeli Standard 5568 – “Guidelines for Internet Content Accessibility” – at an AA level, and in accordance with WCAG 2.0, the guidelines published by the international organization that deals with online accessibility standards. The website supports the use of standard keystrokes to navigate and access the website. We strive to support as wide a range of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so that users can select the tools that are most appropriate for their needs, with as few restrictions as possible. We are currently able to support all major software, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and the JAWS and NVDA screen readers, for both Windows and Mac users.

 

Despite our commitment to accessibility, there may still be certain documents that are not fully accessible. We are constantly working to improve our accessibility options. Accessibility Status

We believe that the internet should be available and accessible to everyone, and we therefore wish to provide a website that is accessible to the broadest possible audience, regardless of circumstances or ability. In order to achieve this, we strive to adhere as strictly as possible to the content accessibility guidelines of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make online content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. Adhering to these guidelines helps us to ensure that the website is accessible to everyone: people who are blind or visually impaired, people with motor disabilities, people with cognitive disabilities, and so on.

 

The website uses various technologies designed to make it as accessible as possible at all times. This includes a special accessibility interface that enables people with specific disabilities to adapt the website’s user interface and design it to meet their personal needs. This interface replaces the outdated approach to accessibility in which the same intermediate interface design would be presented to all users.

 

In addition, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and constantly optimizes the website’s accessibility level. This application corrects issues with the website’s HTML, and adapts the functionality and behavior of the website when accessed via screen readers (for people with visual impairments) and keystrokes (as used by people with motor disabilities).

 

Screen Reader and Keyboard Navigation on Our Website

Our website implements the ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) feature, alongside various behavioral adaptations, to ensure that visitors using screen readers are able to read, understand, and enjoy the website’s various functions. When someone using a screen reader accesses the website, they are immediately prompted to enter the screen reader profile so that they can browse and operate the website effectively. This is how our website handles some of the most important screen reader requirements, alongside screenshots of sample code:

 

  • Screen Reader Optimization: We run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom and thereby ensures ongoing compatibility, even when the website is updated. During this process, we provide screen readers with a substantial amount of data through ARIA’s features. For example, we supply accurate form labels, descriptions of actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.), validation guidelines for form inputs, functional elements like buttons, menus, modal dialogs (pop-ups), and so on.

    In addition, the background process scans all website images and provides meaningful object-based image descriptions as an alt (alternative text) tag for images that are not otherwise described. It will also extract text embedded in the image, using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. To enable screen reader adjustments, users simply need to press the Alt + 1 key combination. Screen reader users also receive automatic notifications to activate the screen reader mode upon accessing the website.

    These adaptations are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.

  • Keyboard-Only Navigation Optimization: The background process also adapts the website HTML and adds various features via JavaScript code to ensure that the website can be operated using only the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift + Tab keys, open dropdown menus with the arrow keys and close them using Esc, activate buttons and links with the Enter key, navigate between radio buttons and check boxes using the arrow keys, and fill them using the Space bar or Enter key.

    In addition, keyboard users can find quick navigation and skip-to-content menus at any time by pressing Alt + 1, or as the first elements encountered on the website while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles jumps by moving the keyboard focus indicator and does not permit the focus indicator to focus elsewhere.

    Users can also use shortcuts like “M” (menus), “H” (    headlines), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

 

Accessibility Profiles Supported on Our Website

  • Epilepsy-Safe Profile: This profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures resulting from flickering or flashing animations and dangerous color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Profile: This profile adjusts the website so that it is accessible to most people who have visual impairments, such as deteriorating vision, tunnel vision, cataracts, glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Profile: This profile provides various auxiliary features that help users who have certain cognitive disabilities like autism, dyslexia, CVA, and others, focus on the essential elements more easily.
  • ADHD Profile: This profile significantly reduces distractions and visual noise in order to help people with ADHD browse, read, and focus on the essential elements more easily.
  • Screen Reader Profile: This profile adapts the website to be compatible with screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack, which may be installed on the computers of blind users.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile: This profile enables people with motor disabilities to access the website using the keyboard Shift + Tab and Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts like “M” (menus), “H” (headlines), “F” (forms), etc.

 

 

Adaptations of the User Interface, Design, and Legibility of Our Website

Font Adjustments – Users can increase and decrease font size, change font type, adjust spacing, alignment, and line height, and more.

 

Color Combinations – Users can opt for different color contrast profiles, such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. In addition, users can swap color schemes for titles, texts, and backgrounds, with more than 7 different view options.

 

Animations – Users with epilepsy can stop all flickering/flashing animations at the click of a button. The animations controlled by this interface include videos, gifs, and flashing CSS transitions.

 

Content Highlighting – Users can choose to highlight important elements, such as links and titles. They can also opt to highlight only elements with keyboard focus or pointer hover.

 

Mute Audio – Users with hearing aids may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playback. This option enables users to mute the entire website instantly.

 

Cognitive Disabilities – We use a search engine linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, enabling people with cognitive disabilities to look up the meanings of various phrases, acronyms, slang terms, and so on.

 

Additional Functions – We provide users with the ability to change the cursor color and symbol, use print mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

 

Browser Compatibility and Supported Technology

We strive to support the widest range of browsers and assistive technologies, so that our users can select the most appropriate tools for their needs, with as few restrictions as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that make up more than 95% of the market share, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, and Microsoft Edge, as well as JAWS and NVDA screen readers, for both Windows and Mac users.
